∙ Founded on February 14, 1931, by 16 families from Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul (RS); ∙ Currently, Aurora has 1,140 cooperative families producing grapes on small properties (around 2.5 hectares per cooperative, with an average of four people per family); ∙ There are 2,800 hectares of cultivated area spread across 11 municipalities in the Serra Gaúcha region: Bento Gonçalves, Veranópolis, São Valentim do Sul, Guaporé, Cotiporã, Monte Belo do Sul, Santa Tereza, Pinto Bandeira, Vila Flores, Farroupilha, and Garibaldi; ∙ Approximately 60 grape varieties are cultivated, including major ones such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir (Vitis Vinifera), as well as Isabel, Concord, Seibel, and Bordô (American and Hybrid varieties), all harvested manually; ∙ Harvest 2023: 70.5 million kilograms of grapes, a 6.5% increase compared to the last harvest (66 million). Historically, Cooperativa Vinícola Aurora represents 10% to 15% of the raw material for the Rio Grande do Sul grape harvest.
